Question:I am an automotive technician and a good flashlight is probably the most important tool to have. I purchased an eagle sunlite turbo from my snap-on tool distributor this will be the second time i will be sending my flashlight for repair it is being held together be tape right now. the threads for the housing to led are gone for the second time. please address this problem. i will be without a flashlight for 2 weeks. i haven't had this flashlight very long. if i pay over $100 dollars for a flashlight i expect it to last more than a year not 3-4 months. I'm very unsatisfied with your product right now.
Answer:The brass piece inside the switch unit is pinned to the switch housing and we applied silver paste to the pins to hold the brass piece, it should be strong enough. I checked with our repair, we did not see that happen before. But if that's the case for you, we can send you a refurbished switch unit for you to replace yourself.
By the way, we did not see your name come up in our repair database. Did your dealer send it in? We can look up under his name to find what had been done on your light last time.
The battery housing and switch unit are mainly held together by threads. We did not use strong glue to hold these two pieces, this is to make it possible for the end user to replace the switch unit themselves if something goes wrong with the switch. Since threads are on aluminum, there is chance they may be worn out if the light is dropped to concrete floor often.
We have lifetime warranty on the light, one year warranty on the battery and charger. We stand behind our warranty. We will fix your problem under warranty. Even when the light was obviously abused and not under warranty, we will offer exchange with the newest version at the minimum cost.
