Question

I was just wanting to know how I would go about getting my Eagle trubo sunlite back in working order. It will not turn on even after a full charge.

Answer

Does the light work when you put it on the charger?

If so, the battery is bad, we have one year warranty on the battery. If you need to buy new, the link is http://powerledlighting.com/shop/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=10_9

If the light does not work with either the side switch or the tail switch while on the charger, it should be LED, we have lifetime warranty on the LED unless your LED was soaked in liquid once.

If the light only does not work with the side switch, it is the side switch. We have lifetime warranty on the side switch if the rubber cover is
intact, you can send it in for repair, our turn-around time is around 2 weeks. You can also buy a switch unit and replace yourself. It is easy to do, just need to remember to put the washer back inside the switch unit. The link is: http://powerledlighting.com/shop/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=10_51&products_id=108

Question
Hello. I'm wondering if it's normal for my Eagle Turbo output to become weaker over time? I've had the flashlight just under 1 year and it is not much brighter on turbo mode over side switch low mode. The battery is working, charging and holding a charge fine.

Answer
The lifetime of a battery is 300-500 time of recharge, after that, the battery will still work, but the capacity is half of the original. If it was caused by battery, it is normal. When you plug the light in charger, it should be the full brightness.

If the turbo mode is not much brighter than side, I would check the edge of the housing that contact the tailcap. The turbo switch is mechanical contact, it will never break, but you should keep the contacting surface clean, you can use cleaning alcohol to clean.

The lens is plastic, if it had been scratched very badly, light may be trapped. It will be weaker than before. We can exchange for $16 if you send in the old LED.

Question:
I am an automotive technician and a good flashlight is probably the most important tool to have. I purchased an eagle sunlite turbo from my snap-on tool distributor this will be the second time i will be sending my flashlight for repair it is being held together be tape right now. the threads for the housing to led are gone for the second time. please address this problem. i will be without a flashlight for 2 weeks. i haven't had this flashlight very long. if i pay over $100 dollars for a flashlight i expect it to last more than a year not 3-4 months. I'm very unsatisfied with your product right now.

Answer:
The brass piece inside the switch unit is pinned to the switch housing and we applied silver paste to the pins to hold the brass piece, it should be strong enough. I checked with our repair, we did not see that happen before. But if that's the case for you, we can send you a refurbished switch unit for you to replace yourself.

By the way, we did not see your name come up in our repair database. Did your dealer send it in? We can look up under his name to find what had been done on your light last time.

The battery housing and switch unit are mainly held together by threads. We did not use strong glue to hold these two pieces, this is to make it possible for the end user to replace the switch unit themselves if something goes wrong with the switch. Since threads are on aluminum, there is chance they may be worn out if the light is dropped to concrete floor often.

We have lifetime warranty on the light, one year warranty on the battery and charger. We stand behind our warranty. We will fix your problem under warranty. Even when the light was obviously abused and not under warranty, we will offer exchange with the newest version at the minimum cost.

Detail of the Turbo switch unit is at http://powerledlighting.com/shop/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=10_51&products_id=108.

if you put a Turbo switch unit on a Eagle flashlight, you are not getting full power out of the light.
if you put a Eagle switch unit on a Turbo flashlight, you cannot turn off your light.

Question
My side switch on the Turbo light cannot turn the light on and off. the light just stays on.

Answer

Turbo light was designed in a way that by twisting the tailcap all the way, you actually turned on the light permanently, it overrides the side switch. You now need to twist the tailcap counter-clockwise for half turn or one turn to turn off the light and then use the side switch to turn the light on and off, and the tailcap is now momentary on.

But if you had put a Eagle switch unit on a Turbo light, you cannot turn your light off even if you had almost take off the tailcap.

Question
My Turbo is running hot lately

Answer
One Turbo flashlight may run hotter than the other because the LED head is at different forward voltage. Typically when the LED head has low forward voltage, the current applied to the LED head is higher, the light will be brighter and runs hotter. If the temperature of the light is below 70 degree C, the light will be fine.

Question
I bought my first Eagle Sunlight flashlight aprox. 1.5 yrs. ago then added the sunstar accessory shortly after. I have since purchased another Eagle Turbo Sunlight flashlight. As I am a aircraft mechanic with Southwest Airlines it has become a very valuable tool that I utilize practically every day (or night) that I work. I really like your flashlights, however the original flashlight I purchased will not charge any more. It's not the battery, the problem seems to be the receptacle that the charger plugs into. Is the above address where I will need to mail the flashlight to to have it repaired?

Answer

You can mail it to the address below for repair. Our turn-around time is 2 weeks after we receive your light. Please include a note saying the problem is at the receptacle for the charger.

The address:
Attn: repairs
Sunlite
345 N. Iowa Street
Lawrence, KS 66044

Another option is to buy a switch unit
http://powerledlighting.com/shop/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=10_51&products_id=109 (for Eagle)
http://powerledlighting.com/shop/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=10_51&products_id=108 (for Turbo)

The switch unit has a new switch and a new receptacle for the charger.

Question
I recently bought a flashlight directly from you guys. This one being the second due to losing the first one I purchased through snap on. My question is why does my new flashlight not last as long as the first one? I use the flashlight the same as the other one, I could leave the other light on for about a week and it still held a charge and now the second one i purchased directly from you, doesn't last as long and it. Hope to hear back soon

Answer
The forward voltage of a LED is not always a fixed number. If the forward voltage of the LED on your flashlight is higher than average, the LED will run less brighter, but battery will run longer. The typical run time after each recharge is 3 hours (tail switch) continuously with a new battery. If the run time is much less than 3 hours, we would happened to replace parts for your flashlight.

Question
No that doesn't answer my question, as I said I could leave the other sunlite flashlight that I purchased from SNAP-ON on all night and day continuously on forward side button and it would still have light before I charged it. The new one I purchased was dead within 6 hours of use, How much would it be to just buy the head with the LED?

Answer
Another way to explain it is: the new LEDs are brighter than old Turbo LEDs and have lower forward voltage. because of these, the new Turbo light is more than 50% brighter than before, but will run less longer. 6 hours continuously on side switch fall in our spec. But if you would prefer your light to run longer than brighter, We still have the old Turbo LEDs to replace yours with.

Purchase eagle turbo 2200 from my snap-on dealer and it seems to have a switch problem. After the light gets hot specifically in turbo mode 128-130 Deg F. If you switch off turbo and use the front switch the LED with start to flicker and change brightness and go on and off. Switching the turbo back on will not help it does the same flickering just brighter. Let it cool down again and its fine till it warms up.. Driver problem? is this thing regulated? Battery is fully charged also.
