Hi there... after some interesting situation I have a red LED traffic light left in my house. Can someone tell me is it good for growing indoors? Is it too much? Some suggestions please?
I have read that LED lights are very good for growing, and that in the red spectrum there is much photosynthesis....

For green plants the light absorption peaks that are most important are as follows:
1. Chlorophyll-a: 430nm/662nm
2. Chlorophyll-b: 453nm/642nm
3. Carotenoids: 449nm/475nm

Blue light, optimize plant leaf development,
Red light: stem elongation and color,

So red LED light (650nm) is useful, but plants still needs blue light (465nm). So you can either mix blue and red, or just use white LED light, it has both red and blue spectrum.
