Lied Center In 2014 Sunlite Science and Technology, Inc. supported the Lied Center of Kansas. The Lied Center of Kansas opened on Sept. 28, 1993 and was built through the generosity of the Lied Foundation Trust. It is dedicated to Ernst F. Lied’s parents, Ernst M. and Ida K. Lied. The Lied Center of Kansas serves the state’s flagship university, students and the greater community by functioning as a catalyst for the arts, creativity, engagement and community building
Firebird In 2014 Sunlite Science and Technology, Inc. supported the Free State Firebird Robotics Team 5119. The Free State Firebird Robotics Team #5119 received the NASA grant, competed in the KC Regional, placed 10th out of 58 teams (highest ranked rookie team).
Forum In 2014 Sunlite Science and Technology, Inc. supported the efforts of Studio 804, Inc. in the creation of The Forum at Marvin Hall. Studio 804 is a not-for-profit corporation committed to the continued research and development of sustainable, affordable, and inventive building solutions via the education of graduate students entering the final year of the Master of Architecture program at the University of Kansas School of Architecture, Design and Planning) and the University of Kansas (KU in Lawrence, Kansas)
Bishop Seabury In 2014 Sunlite Science and Technology, Inc. supported Bishop Seabury Academy for the lighting at Bishop Seabury Academy Gymnasium. Indirect and direct efficient Sunlite LED light fixtures were incorporated into the gym to reduce the total power consumption from over 12,000 watts down to 5,850 watts while increasing the light level on the court by over 200%.
Theatre Lawrence In 2014 Sunlite Science and Technology, Inc. customized 24V LED lights for Theatre Lawrence to light up the steps to get on the stage. Theatre Lawrence partners with volunteers to create and deliver extraordinary theatre and education programs that engage community members of all ages and backgrounds as audience members and participants.
SW Middle School Bulldog In 2014 Sunlite Science and Technology, Inc. supported the efforts of SW Middle School in their pursuit of sustainable education by presenting on LED Technology to 7th graders.
Stepping Out Against Breast Cancer In 2014 Sunlite Science and Technology, Inc. supported the efforts of the LMH Endowment by being one of the bronze sponsors for the 2014 "Stepping Out Against Breast Cancer" Dance. Proceeds from the dance will support breast cancer treatment and prevention through LMH's many comprehensive services, such as: breast risk assessment clinic, genetic counseling and testing, digital diagnostic and screening mammograms. Since 1992, over 500 women, who would not otherwise be able to, received mammograms as a result of Stepping Out Against Breast Cancer event, with many others receiving education and support. .
USGBC In 2014 Sunlite Science and Technology, Inc. supported the efforts of USGBC Central Plains in their continuing education blitz 2014 by presenting on LED Technology LEDs 101 at Kansas City Anita Garman Discovery Center, Kansas City, MO.
AIA In 2014 Sunlite Science and Technology, Inc. supported the efforts of AIA Lawrence in their pursuit of sustainable education by presenting on LED Technology at a Lunch and Learn in Lawrence, KS. LEDs 101: a Lunch and Learn at Sunlite's facility for AIA Topeka had one of the company's designers, Kirsten Oschwald, discussing LED Technology from what an LED is to CCT, Controls, Trends and more with the CTO, Jeff Chen, available for questions after the presentation, and a tour of the facility.
AIA In 2014 Sunlite Science and Technology, Inc. supported the efforts of AIA Topeka in their pursuit of sustainable education by presenting on LED Technology at a Lunch and Learn in Topeka, KS. LEDs 101: a Lunch and Learn at HTK Architects in Topeka for AIA Topeka had one of the company's designers, Kirsten Oschwald, discussing LED Technology from what an LED is to CCT, Controls, Trends and more with the CTO, Jeff Chen, available for questions after the presentation.
Hearts of Gold In 2014 Sunlite Science and Technology, Inc. supported the efforts of the LMH Endowment by supplying lighting for the 2014 Hearts of Gold Ball. The Hearts of Gold Ball takes place every two years and is often held in an unusual space – not a typical ballroom – so it takes considerable effort to create an elegant venue. The 2014 Hearts of Gold Ball was a huge success, raising $500,000 and surpassing the goal by more than $200,000. The money raised will go toward the renovation of the Acute Rehab Unit and the Traditional Care Unit, which will be completely remodeled, likely starting in 2015.
KSBDC Logo In 2014 Sunlite Science and Technology, Inc. was nominated and won the 2014 Existing Business of the Year Award from the KSBDC.
Eco Hawks In 2013 Sunlite Science and Technology, Inc. supported the efforts of Studio 804, Inc. in the creation of the Hill Engineering Research & Development Center (the EcoHawks Research Facility). Studio 804 is a not-for-profit corporation committed to the continued research and development of sustainable, affordable, and inventive building solutions via the education of graduate students entering the final year of the Master of Architecture program at the University of Kansas School of Architecture, Design and Planning) and the University of Kansas (KU in Lawrence, Kansas) .
1 Million Cups In 2013 Sunlite Science and Technology, Inc. supported the efforts of the Lawrence, KS chapter for 1 Million Cups (1MC) and was happy to have the opportunity to speak to and engage with local entrepreneurs towards the goal of creating a measurable impact on the entrepreneur ecosystem and economics in the Lawrence, KS community.
SW Middle School Bulldog In 2013 Sunlite Science and Technology, Inc. supported the efforts of SW Middle School in their pursuit of sustainable education by presenting on LED Technology to 7th graders.
4811 Quail Crest In 2013 Sunlite Science and Technology, Inc. moved out of the Bioscience & Technology Business Center, where its offices were housed for 3 years, and out of 345 N Iowa Street, where it rented warehouse space for 16 years from PUR-O-ZONE, to a newly purchased warehouse and office space at 4811 Quail Crest Place. By relocating both sets of current employees to an unoccupied + foreclosed on warehouse, Sunlite fills an existing vacancy on Quail Crest Place, increasing business occupancy along this road. Sunlite’s expansion timing also leaves no density vacancies behind, with Pure-O-Zone set to expand into the rest of their warehouse and several companies ready to expand within the BTBC but not graduate out of it.
Lawrence Chamber of Commerce Logo In 2013 Sunlite Science and Technology, Inc. was nominated for the Lawrence Chamber of Commerce Business of the Year Award.
JCCC In 2012 Sunlite Science and Technology, Inc. supported the efforts of Studio 804, Inc. in the creation of Galileo's Pavilion (a Center for Sustainability), Studio 804 is a not-for-profit corporation committed to the continued research and development of sustainable, affordable, and inventive building solutions via the education of graduate students entering the final year of the Master of Architecture program at the University of Kansas School of Architecture, Design and Planning) and Johnson County Community College (JCCC in Overland Park, Kansas).
DouglasCountyEmergencyManagementLogo In 2012 Sunlite Science and Technology, Inc. supported the efforts of Douglas County Emergency Management in their 2013 Pursuit of Preparedness campaign by donating flashlights for one hundred and fifty emergency kits that will be distributed to various children and families in need in Douglas County.
